August is upon us! I’m knee-deep into research for a Westchester Magazine story this month, in addition to work for a new haircare client and editing for Time’s new e-comm site.
Work’s been working the last couple of months, which is good because I got hit with a pretty hellacious IRS audit bill. If you know any freelancers, you’ve probably heard this year has been rocky for most of us, so my friends who have passed along or assigned me work (editorial and copy) is beyond appreciated. A special shout-out to my friends Rachel, Rachel, Lindsey, Annie, Alena and Tara for exactly this!
Let’s catch up, shall we?
What I’m watching: My fiance and I are rewatching LOST in its entirety and it’s a trip. I forgot how great this show is. I also forgot a lot of the basic plot!
What I’m listening to: Philly radio station Ben FM on Amazon at home and in the car when I drive to PA to visit my parents. It’s incred. Instead of playing five Maroon 5 and Ed Sheeran songs like all my local NYC stations do on a loop, they play the most random 80s and 90s music. It’s tailor-made for nostalgic Gen Xers and elder Millennials. It’s chef’s kiss dot gif.
What I’m buying at Trader Joe’s: So, so many things. The world is your oyster when you have a car to cart groceries. A few favorites of late include their bean and cheese burritos, spicy lentil wraps, palak paneer, vegetable enchiladas and the Southwest salad.

This month’s Amazon essentials list is an especially great one. From my new must-have condiment I’m shaking on positively everything to the most flattering leggings on the planet to the one item that’s leveled up my fitness routine, here are my ten go-tos for August.
