T.S. Eliot said April is the cruelest month, but I’d wager it’s February — at least in the New York Metro area. Here are the 5 things I discovered last month that are in constant rotation.
The Hyperpigmentation Eradicator
Dr. Idriss Major Fade Hyper Serum I had this overachiever of a serum in my possession for months before testing it out. That’s reason number 561 for being a beauty hoarder, my friend. Anyhoodle, in March 2020, I was living at my parents’ house when I curled my hair and by accident (probably because I was distracted by the fact that I was 39 and living at my parents’ while we “flattened the curve” for two weeks and was living through a pandemic), I burnt the side of my face. The dark mark remained, despite years of vitamin C serums and retinoids, though it had faded. A few applications of this, however? Major fade. Not hyperbole. Within days. Get involved.
Elevated Loungewear
I have so many of these. This one is on sale and I haven’t pulled the trigger on it yet, but I might for my upcoming spring break trip to keep me warm in the hotel room.
Pull-On Jeans You Need
In the three weeks since I bought them, my Derry Jeans have been in constant rotation. I like that they’re skinny-ish but not too, so I feel somewhat modern while still feeling like I don’t have to do the whole flare/wide leg/straight leg thing every day.
A Travel Essential
Two dresses for the price of one. What’s not to love? Oh, it’s also seasonless. I’m packing it for spring break for sure. I can’t figure out which print I love more — that’s a signature DVF first-world problem. It’s currently on sale, PS.
The Perfect Spring Lip (& Cheek)
Milk Makeup Cooling Water Lip & Cheek Stain in Burst
This genius product provides the best popsicle lip ever — I don’t even understand the texture of this super-wet slick stick that goes on like a dry stain and sticks around for hours. Get into it.

I second the Dr. Idriss Major Fade Serum (and Moisturizer!) recommendation. They are so so good. My hyperpigmentation is (was!) from past acne, it faded within weeks. I now look glow-y, need less makeup, etc., etc. Just, ridiculously good.
