Hi! How was your weekend? Mine included a lot of packing and “rolling move,” which is a term my friend Ellen came up with to describe the overlap of when you have the keys to the new place but aren’t fully ensconced, so I’m taking a lot of trips back and forth (it’s a five-minute drive) in between the two to set up what I can in advance.
I’m also taking a little break from my best of series (installments here and here) because I have some new stuff I’ve been testing and I can’t STFU about them. And we don’t gatekeep here, so here’s my best of March shortlist, in addition to my March Amazon favorites.
Best of March shortlist
The way this woman chats with her six-month old baby as if they’re girlfriends catching up over coffee is nothing but hilarious. Here’s a prime example of her content. I genuinely feel as if this baby is vibing.
Running Point on Netflix
I always like a Mindy Kaling script and who doesn’t love a Kate Hudson moment? It’s rare to see her on TV and this show was the perfect thing to stream while I’m purging and packing.
Japanfusion Pure Transforming Cleanser
I mean. I’m so late to the Beautypie party, but now that I’m here, I’m going to have to be kicked out. Two of the three items I’ve tried are official beauty retirement status. I love both this cleanser and the brand’s tinted lip oil.
But back to the cleanser! You get a huge tube (TG for tubes. I loathe pots/jars) of the most interesting, effective, elegant cleanser I’ve used in my life. And I’m embarassingly promiscuous when it comes to cleansers. I try them all! It’s not a balm—it purports to be a gel, but it’s so beyond that. It’s living in the future is all I can say. It’s creamy and has the impact of a balm/oil, but in an almost lotion format that turns into a milk when you add water. It removes absolutely everything. It’ll control C any and all makeup in a flash. It’s also $24 for a tube that will last you months.
Sarah Creal Brilliant Repair Shield Illuminating SPF
This is my new favorite tinted sunscreen, and that’s really saying something. I met Sarah Creal years ago when I was writing Estée Lauder’s blog content and she is an utter genius. At the time, she created the products for the now defunct Estée Edit line (it was ahead of its time!) and I knew I had to try her latest range created for women over 40. It comes in two blendable shades and provides just enough coverage with a little illumination. Love.
Um, did you know there was a site where you could buy (quickly) everything from UTI meds to cold sore prescriptions? It’s so easy and reasonable and it’s my new go-to.
Normally I keep my ear party (remember that 2010s terminology?) pretty neutral and microscopic, but I’m making a rare exception for this dope jade hue. I like the look of two of them stacked.
