Today is TIBAAC’s three-year anniversary! Here’s the inaugural post. Thank you for being here! Today’s the last day to get an annual paid subscription for 30% off forever (and ever) so please take advantage of that if you’re so inclined.

Before we get into the October list, let’s talk about this vibe shift, to use 2022 terminology. Remember when wearing something someone else owned was… the most embarassing thing that could happen? Or if you were caught buying something you’d seen on anyone else, you’d be mortified?

Now, that’s simply influencing. It’s fascinating. I’ve never been remotely upset when someone buys anything I buy. The adage, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery has always been true in the realm of beauty and fashion for me. Beauty especially! Purchasing a great lipstick you saw on someone else means you won’t ever be a carbon copy of them because it will look different on you. It’s the ultimate compliment.

That said, when I see someone ā€œbiting my rhymesā€ (ripping off things I say and passing them off as their own, etc.), I can’t stand it. Take my entire outfit and beauty routine—but don’t use my turns of phrase without credit.

Anyway, let’s get into it.

šŸ‚ Best of October

This month, I discovered my new favorite crisp shower oil cleanser, an inexpensive, not-so-ludicrously capacious purse, and a bright, happy throw pillow for your sofa or bed, plus lots more.

Kizik Step-In Boots My love of step-in shoes knows no bounds. We have no foyer and no place to sit to put on shoes and live in a one-floor walk-up. So I’m always carrying an infant and also needing to put on shoes so they ALL need to be step-in right now. These will be my winter essential, I can already tell.

This Cos oversized clutch has elevated my autumnal look. It comes with an optional strap too, which is key.

Youzey Cloud 9 Quilted Crossbody I received this in Barbie pink in a PR mailer—and was so impressed, I purchased my own in black. With code WELCOME20, it was $35.

Saltair Green Grapefruit Shower Oil Green fruits—they’re officially A Thing. I loved Soft Services’ Green Banana Buffing Bar’s subtle, not cloying, yet invigorating banana scent—a word not typically reserved for banana anything.

Perigold Velvet Lumbar Pillow This rainbow-hued pillow will bring color into your life and your living room.

My Brilliant Friend on Max The books were incredible and the show is just as good. Get into it if you haven’t. The acting is superb and the storyline is DISHY this season.

I’m officially a convert to Rhode Pocket Blush in Juice Box.

I’m blown away by how stunning, flattering and comfy these Good American Soft Tech jeans are. I’m considering a second pair.

These Halara leggings are so waist-snatching, yet entirely comfortable. It’s the eighth wonder of the world. I’ve never been more thrilled by an Instagram ad purchase—and that’s saying a lot, as I’m pretty much the dream consumer, as you know.

The Credo 20% off everything sale ends today! I’d buy this set from Ilia.

My favorite puffed-sleeve jean jacket from Gap is still available and is on sale in this gorgeous black shade.
