Hi! I missed you. First, a little run-down of what’s been going on over here.

Things I Buy As A Civilian is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

What I’m Reading: 12 Hours Sleep By 12 Weeks Old. We’re at week four. I’m dreaming, literally and figuratively, of more than four hours at a time.

What I’m Watching: Griselda! The ‘70s realness. The Sofia of it all. This show is GOOD. I just started it this week and am loving it so far.

What I’m Self Caring: Flamingo Estate Roma Tomato Hand Soap. Just wow. This cleanser! The brand. The brand’s NAME. As a professional namer of things (a beauty copywriter, who’s named many a product), I am so jealous I didn’t come up with this one. It conjures whimsical luxury — my favorite combo. I saw that Fat Mascara’s Jessica Matlin mentioned she likes this super luxe hand soap on Instagram and have never purchased anything faster. It arrived in the most stunning, glass bottle adorned with the gorgeous Flamingo Estate logo. Buy it for the bottle alone! But the verdant, rich, fresh aroma of the soap is also IT. Buy it immediately. It’s a tomato girl winter over here at my house, because I also called in another favorite fragrance brand’s take on tomato — it also smells sublime.

What I’m Eating: Clio Greek Yogurt Bars. The brand sent me these a while ago and I forgot they were in my fridge until recently — they are incred! What a great snack. Zero sugar and they satisfy the strongest sweet craving. I like the mixed berry iteration.

Let’s get into my review of Anastasia Brow Freeze. The TikTok-favorite brand now offers its best-selling brow styling wax in a tube, which makes it much easier to use. Who can remember to pack a spoolie brush? Plus, you’re not supposed to even dip the spoolie brush directly into the pot (which I always do). Instead, you’re supposed to scoop a little out and put it on your spoolie from there. But now that there’s a tube applicator, it’s a simple swipe-on-and-go situation.

But the Q is — is this my favorite brow setter of the moment? Read on to find out.
