In the world of heat tools, for the longest, we were relegated to tripping over cords, wrapping cords up and fretting that our plugs at the end of our cords weren’t internationally compliant. Once in Brazil, I broke my fancy, self-twirling curling iron (it was my own fault) because I plugged it in and it sizzled and died before my eyes and I was left with hideous hair in Sao Paolo. You know, the land where keratin treatments were invented. It was uncute, to say the least.

I’m all about cutting cords when it comes to my cable service—and when it comes to my heat tools. So when cordless heat tools came on the market a few years ago, I was elated. Not only does it make traveling so much easier, if you keep these things charged (and that’s its own special project, trust), you can have good hair anywhere, in any room, and fairly easily. I use mine while I watch TV in my living room. Which one is my favorite?
