I know. We’re nowhere near spring. It’s February, it’s gray, and the only thing blooming outside my window is my seasonal existential dread. But I’m manifesting warmer days and better vibes, starting with my lashes.

Let me tell you about a lash discovery that’s made my weekday mornings significantly less tragic, which I’ll get into in short order.

Before that, I want to talk about some things that made my past couple of weeks.

Everything I’m loving of late

  • I decided I couldn’t deal with the horrific feng shui in my extremely narrow entryway. I’d had shoe racks that were way too wide as they better accommodate my husband’s and stepson’s gigantic shoes, which don’t fit as well in my new solution—but now we don’t have to practically turn sideways to enter the house upon coming through the front door. IKEA TRONES. They hold fewer men’s shoes (this is annoying), but the trick is just getting a strange amount of them and revel in their slim slim profile. Also, instead of having a runner and an ultra thin doormat in a shade that kept getting disgusting from snow and salt, I just bought one of these, which recently went on sale.

  • I discovered this incredible blurred lip tint (referred to a foggy tint, which is fun) at Marshalls and bought it in the shade Shelly, saw how great it was, and then went back and bought two other shades. I top them with these wellness microdose lip balms for added moisture for this arctic blast that won’t quit.

  • This Il Makiage power primer and my new favorite m.ph Le Skin Weightless Serum Foundation is a killer combo for all-day wear. Spray with some ONE/SIZE makeup setting spray and your look is on until you take it off.

  • I've completely replaced my 3 PM coffee with Brodo's Spicy Nonna broth, and it's a better ritual—warm, savory, with just enough heat to feel like a reset without the jittery aftermath. It's bone broth with depth and complexity (tomato, garlic, a little kick of Calabrian chili), not the sad, watery stuff I’d been tossing back prior. Drinking something nourishing instead of another cup of caffeine feels like the kind of small, grownup choice that somehow makes the rest of the day better. I’ve since ordered it on subscription.

  • My mini eleventh-hour V Day guide for you or someone you love: The tinted sunscreen everyone tells me they love when they learn I’m a beauty writer. It is divine. This Frank & Eileen funnel-neck sweatshirt is polished and relaxed simultaneously. The best Hawaiian coconut peanut butter which has ruined me for all other PBs for the rest of my life. I mix it with Greek yogurt for the perfect snack. Granado Apotecario Eau de Parfum is the fragrance you wear when you want to smell like you just discovered a leather-bound first edition in a century-old apothecary where the walls are still saturated with cardamom and myrrh. This tracks 45+ body metrics for the wellness guru in your life.

Let’s talk all things lashes.
