June is BUSY. I’m ramping work back up to full-time capacity. As is common in publishing, I just lost a major editorial client I wrote 5+ stories for a month who no longer has freelancer budget (sigh). It’s happened a million times before so I always know that any non-shopping site is at risk (which this was). But it’s still a scramble.
The good is news that this week, I have a few calls with potential copy clients, so fingers crossed I can sign on one or two and then we’ll be good to extend my nanny’s hours and I can work more. I’m talking to brands about doing editorial strategy, marketer to copywriter/copyeditor fast track Zoom sessions, website overhauls, social copy, product descriptions and blog posts for them.
ICYMI: Do you really need Decalt?
I’m also working on setting up our other apartment (read more on that here), so some of this month’s Amazon purchases are related to that. We were bursting at the seams in our current place and we’ll now have a guest room for my dad, friends and other family so I’m positively thrilled. I’m also looking forward to having room to do Tracy Anderson dance workouts, which was not feasible in our current living room. Small pleasures.
Some non-Amazon purchases I’m loving of late:
This dress (I got it in green) from Tuckernuck is quickly becoming my hot-weather go-to.
I pair it, as I do with everything in the summer, with these comfortable platform heels I wore to my wedding six months pregnant. Okay? Nothing beats these. I have them in three colorways.
I haven’t pulled the trigger yet but I’m considering upgrading my Bigger Carry-On I bought nearly a decade ago for one of these limited-edition La Ligne versions.
This top is cute for summer weekends away.
This variety pack of ziplocks solves a LOT of problems. Thanks to
for this rec!The June edit is a good one! Read on to find out about my go-to box cutter that’s safe enough to keep in our pocket, the cutest thank-you notes, an actual La Neige lip mask dupe, an insanely flattering high-waisted bikini bottom and more in this month’s edition.
