So here’s an end-of-the-month rundown of all the things I’m loving of late, from books to podcasts to Trader Joe’s finds and of course, beauty essentials. Here’s what topped my August list.
Books: Smart Brevity by Jim VandeHei, Mike Allen and Roy Schwartz (everyone should read this book, whether you write or even just speak, for work) and Rick Rubin’s The Creative Act: A Way Of Being.
Podcast: Morning Brew’s Money with Katie is my new favorite that I’m hoping will make me more fiscally responsible (as I write my newsletter with a name that starts with Things I Buy. Sigh.).
Substack:
’s shift from blogging to her Girls of a Certain Age Substack, the paid version of which includes juicy anecdotes from her Lucky magazine days.Trader Joe’s Must-Haves: Frozen Cheese Curds (wayyy better than mozz sticks) and Spicy Lentil Wraps. I add the spicy crunchy chili onion hummus. Delish.
Skin:
La Neige Cream Skin Face Mist Goes on morning and night before my serums and is great for spritzing post-makeup to keep it all dewy dewy dewy (decimal system—I’m at the Ryebrary). I use it prior to my Augustinus Bader Rich Cream, which I’ve been buying at TJ Maxx on sale of late.
